Professionally Clean Your Clothes Before Storing Them for the Season

With the arrival of the holiday season, comes the need to start bringing out your winter clothes and putting away clothes that you won’t be able to wear until next season. In order to store them properly, you need to have them professionally laundered to ensure that they are clean and stain free. Failure to do so could lead to some unexpected and unwanted surprises when you pull those clothes back out to wear later on.

Taking your clothes to the Nashville cleaners before you pack them up for the season is also the perfect way for you to learn if any of them need to be altered or have any missing buttons, broken zippers and other issues repaired. The more time and effort that you put into properly storing your clothes now, the better condition they will be in when you are ready to wear them again.

Don’t let the cold temperatures cause you to neglect your clothes. Take them to the cleaners Lebanon whenever you can’t wash them and pick them up on your way in from work, the grocery store or the gym.

Drop your clothes off at one of our two convenient locations: 2807 Gallatin Pike in Nashville 37216 and 109 W Market St in Lebanon, TN 37087. Visit McPherson Cleaners online for more information.

Caring for Your Sweaters

Now that sweater season has finally arrived, you maybe wondering how to care for your sweaters and delicate fabrics. While you do have the option of taking them to your local Lafayette TN cleaners, it is highly recommended that you learn how to care for them yourself. Use these steps to prolong the life of your sweaters.

Avoid hanging your sweaters up. Hanging your sweaters will only stretch them out of shape. The best way to store your sweaters is to fold them and keep them in a drawer on shelf where they won’t snag or pull.

The best way to deal with pilling is to pull it off so that it does not snag on the rest of your sweater. If you find picking the little pills too time consuming, consider using a razor or an electric to speed things up.

Don’t wear your sweaters all of the time or they will start to lose their shape.

Use a soft bristled baby brush to lightly remove dirt, dandruff, and hairs from the surface of your sweaters.

If you can’t get your sweaters to the dry cleaners, hand wash them at home. Be careful not to twist your sweaters. Use a gentle laundry detergent to clean your delicate fabrics and lay them flat to dry.
