In order for that to happen, you need for your summer swimwear to perform under pressure. And everyone knows, once you find that perfect suit, you want to make sure you can keep wearing it for as long as possible. Check out these 10 tips for keeping swimwear in shape. See you at the pool!
10 Tips for Keeping Swimwear in Shape
- Frequent swimmer? Purchase 2, 3, or more of your favorite style
- Look for “Chlorine Resistant” on the label
- 100% polyester suits fare far better in hot tubs and saunas
- Apply sunscreen, skin lotions and oils before swimsuit, allowing to first dry thoroughly
- Remove wet suits and rinse (always rinse!) thoroughly after swimming
- If you cannot remove your suit after swimming, immediately rinse off in the shower
- Do not wring out suits to avoid speeding elasticity & fiber breakdown
- Lay flat to dry on a towel after rinsing & patting out water: roll the towel up and squeeze. Replace towel, and lay suit out to finish drying
- Never use bleach! It was cause the spandex and elastic to break down very quickly, and causes white suits to fade, especially in chlorine water
- Avoid laundry detergent. Instead use a mild hand soap to minimize premature fading and fiber breakdown
