How to Care for Your Rayon Fabrics and Clothing Items

Rayon is a very popular fabric for all types of clothing. It is a fabric that is made primarily from cellulose fibers that are directly derived from wood pulp. The fibers are nature based and manufactured by treating the wood pulp with specialized chemicals. Rayon is by far one of the most popular and most favored fabrics in use today for clothing and even for a variety of home accessories as well.

Since rayon is manufactured from natural products, but is very heavily processed. These rayon products are therefore categorized as semi-synthetic fibers. Rayon fabrics drape very nicely and smoothly and are extremely soft. The fabric is very lightweight and because of its breathability and ability to easily absorb moisture, rayon can be easily dyed for all types of bright, vibrant colors.

There are some rayon fabrics, however, that when they become wet will shrink and become quite distorted.
